About CurrentCosts

CurrentCosts is a plain-language price guide for the jobs, purchases and services people research before they spend.

How to read a range

Every subject page opens with a low-to-high band and a midpoint, then breaks that band into the pieces that usually drive the bill. Read it as the field a fair quote should land inside, not as a price for your exact job.

Where the numbers come from

Each band is calibrated from how large and how variable the work is in its category, together with the advertising cost and keyword breadth we see for that service. A roof replacement and a haircut should never read as the same kind of number.

What CurrentCosts is not

We are not a contractor, lender, broker, insurer, law firm or medical provider. We do not quote work, set rates or make credit decisions. Some outbound links are affiliate links, and each one is labelled where it appears.

Corrections and updates

Ranges live as data, so fixing one is a single edit rather than a rewrite. If a band looks wrong for your area, send us the page and the number you were quoted.
